I am a proud long-time resident of Thunder Bay. Born at St. Joseph's Hospital, I attended Hammarskjold High School, graduating with the OAC Gold Medal in 2000, and Lakehead University majoring in chemistry. As a student I volunteered at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and Medi+Plus Pharmacy. I eventually worked as a student at the pharmacy of both St. Joseph's Hospital and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Having gained preliminary pharmacy experience, I was admitted to the University of Toronto's Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program in 2001. In 2005, soon after graduating from the pharmacy program with First Class Honours, I was thrilled to return to my hometown of Thunder Bay to practice community pharmacy with the constant career goal of providing excellent pharmaceutical care.
Without question I have continually been dedicated to the community of Thunder Bay. As an ongoing member of both the Knights of Columbus and the Italian Cultural Centre, I have been able to contribute to the community fostering solidarity through various charitable activities. I have also enjoyed serving others as a hospitality minister weekly at St. Dominic's Church. On a global level, I strive to alleviate poverty and suffering through my continuous support of Plan Canada and Samaritan's Purse.
My greatest personal interests are my health and my family. To relax and stay fit, I exercise at the gym and play tennis. I also very much enjoy watching movies, listening to music and playing guitar. Most of all I savour spending quality time with my family.
Having practiced pharmacy in a number of significantly different environments, from quaint independent drugstores to large corporate pharmacies, Janzen's Pharmacy is unequivocally the most diverse, patient-centred practice I have ever encountered. Janzen's offers an infinite variety of services with the tenacious goal of providing excellent pharmaceutical care to all patients. Being completely locally owned and operated, Janzen's empowers me and my colleagues to in turn tailor all of our efforts to the needs of our patients and our community. As a diligent practitioner I am wholeheartedly committed to serving all patients, not only by protecting them from any harm associated with drug therapy, but more importantly by proactively and zealously helping all patients achieve optimal health outcomes to live as well as possible!
